Major Duties Include (but are not limited to):
Prepares reports to assist in monitoring claim submission and processing performance data to identify and provide root cause resolution; Participates in work groups to improve reporting capabilities for the agency with the goal of enhancing provider relationships; Assists in the development and implementation of internal control and auditing methodologies to ensure full compliance with sound quality control; Compiles a facility profile for all facilities supported by the unit and compiles a payer profile for all payers with which the unit does business with; Generates reports that assist the agency in monitoring claims processing performance and timeliness with community providers; Assists in developing communications, tools, templates, presentations and job aids to educate community providers and agency staff; Participates in provider led training opportunities to discuss and resolve operational issues; Educates staff on policies and procedures related to payment methodologies, Electronic Data Interchange, Medical Remittance Advise, and rejections; and Generates reports and analyzes data to identify claims submission and claims processing inefficiencies and inaccuracies with community providers. Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule:

Specialized Experience GS-09:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-07 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
1) Assists with designing action plans and establishes target dates to manage and monitor claims submission and processing projects with community providers 2) Keeps track of claims processing activities and verifies that payments are accurate, consistent, and in accordance with public laws, directives, and regulations 3) Assists in communicating compliance challenges and program opportunities to agency leadership, managers, and other stakeholders 4) Aids in the education of community providers regarding regulations and processes that govern VA claims processing 5) Assists in studies, analysis, and helps develops methods to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of services provided to both internal and external customers 6) Aids with the investigation of systemic issues and developing root cause solutions related to claims processing issues 7) Helps develop claims processing solutions within the consolidated processing units for the unit and all associated decentralized units to resolve reoccurring claims submission issues with community providers OR, Education:
Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B. or J.D., (if related) OR, Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond 1 full year of graduate level education. Specialized Experience GS-11:

Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily sedentary but there are instances of occasional standing, bending, walking, lifting, and carrying of items. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
