District Service Manager--United Hardware Distributing Co., a distributor of hardware merchandise located in Plymouth MN, is looking for a District Service Manager to service the North Dakota region. This position's primary role is to increase the market share of United Hardware through increased sales from existing dealers and other customers, as well as obtain new business through new store starts and conversions, and by adding hardware assortments to existing retail businesses. Qualified candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. Extensive travel within the region is required.
Primary duties and accountabilities:
Make store visits to existing dealers to sell United Hardware's programs and services; establish and work on goals to improve retailer's business; give constructive advice on store improvements; provide dealers with relevant information
Assist dealers in category and market acquisition
District Expectations:
Develop positive relationships with assigned Dealers
Represent UH as a positive influence to assist dealers and capture business profitability
Identify key dealers - Assist them in ordering UH merchandise
Maintain appropriate inventory in store based on sales and help set merchandise in the store to increase sales
Check-in orders and help display for sale when appropriate
Identify potential new products and relay information to appropriate UH individuals
Identify additional Prospects to grow account list and grow business
Stay abreast of current and future status of market within assigned district
Find the proper assistance for dealers looking to expand their stores
Solve store concerns of credits and store request over and above sales
Minimum
Qualifications:
Knowledge of retail hardware and lumber operations and procedures
Basic hardware product knowledge
Retail management experience preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
Self- Motivated with the ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
