As part of the Department of Administration, the State Human Resources Division contributes to the strategic and operating success of the State of Montana through partnerships with other agency human resources professionals to provide innovative programs, services, systems, and solutions in support of state employees and agency workforce strategies.
The Office of Labor Relations is looking for an individual to join their team.
If you are interested in learning about the labor relations and human resource field, this is a great opportunity! This position reports directly to the Administrator of the State Human Resources Division.
Responsibilities associated with this position include drafting and updating documents (e.
g.
, collective bargaining agreements, MOUs, letters, etc.
); scheduling and attending meetings/negotiations; capturing key information in a meeting setting; coordinating critical deadlines; working with other functions within the division to provide informational updates; updating websites; and performing other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for? Education and
Experience:
High school diploma and two or more years relevant job experience or related education.
Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Competencies:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to interact with employees, managers, and others in both positive and challenging situations.
Proficient in using Adobe and Microsoft Office software suite with advanced skills in Word and Outlook.
Ability to learn software programs and perform updates to websites.
Effective proofreading, formatting, and editing skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, as this position has frequent contact and access to confidential information.
Ability to build effective working relationships with division staff, union representatives, other agency staff, and stakeholders.
Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality work output.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple competing priorities and ensure sometimes overlapping deadlines are met.
Appropriate identification and resolution of problems within areas of responsibility.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures such as file and record management, taking meeting minutes, and other office procedures.
