What is this career opportunity? We are seeking a high-potential individual who wants to join the Director's Office of the Department of Administration and be part of a dynamic leadership team.
What exactly do we do? The department serves state government by providing services to other state agencies in the areas of accounting, human resources, contracting, construction, facilities management, information technology, and insurance.
We have recently added new services that include data management and modernization strategies, a centralized office to manage and respond to public information requests, and we expect to deploy more than $600 million in federal grants to expand broadband internet service to the citizens of Montana through our ConnectMT program.

This position reports to the Director of the department providing support functions such as:
calendaring, materials preparation, email management, correspondence preparation, and maintaining websites.
This position also directly supports boards and committees associated with department functions such as the Capitol Complex Advisory Committee and Burial Preservation Board.
While you would be responsible for a variety of administrative duties, you would have the opportunity to work on special projects in support of the department's mission.
THIS IS A FULL-TIME, IN-OFFICE POSITION to ensure occasional walk-in parties, seeking to meet with department leadership, can be assisted.
What are we looking for? Education and
Experience:
College coursework emphasizing business subjects, writing, or related studies; and substantive experience with office and administrative support.
Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Competencies:
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to interact with employees, managers, and others in both positive and challenging situations.
Proficient in using Adobe and Microsoft Office software suite with advanced skills in Word and Outlook.
Ability to learn software programs and perform updates to websites and social media sites.
Effective proofreading, formatting, and editing skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, as this position has frequent contact and access to confidential information.
Ability to build effective working relationships with agency staff, Governor's Office staff, other agency staff, vendors, and others.
Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness to ensure quality work output.
Able to adapt to changes in the work environment; management of competing priorities; and capacity to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
Appropriate identification and resolution of problems within areas of responsibility.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures such as file and record management, taking meeting minutes, and other office procedures.
Preferred:
Notary Public certification or willingness to obtain this certification.
Familiarity of the structure and operation of state government and the legislative process.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
