The Montana Department of Revenue administers approximately 40 state taxes, property appraisals, alcoholic beverage laws, cannabis laws, and unclaimed property for the state of Montana.
The Business and Income Taxes Division (BIT) manages a variety of Montana tax types that include business, individual, and natural resources.
BIT is comprised of five bureaus (Income and Withholding Taxes, Business Taxes and Fees, Natural Resource and Corporate Income Taxes, Audits and Pass Through, and Analytics and Planning), that perform audits, verify compliance with Montana laws for all taxes administered by the division, and issues appraisals and assessments of centrally assessed property.

DUTIES Job Overview:
This position resides in the Business & Income Taxes Division of Department of Revenue.
The Business and Income Tax Division ensures secure handling of taxpayer information and data.
The BIT management officer oversees the administrative unit, which provides administrative, developmental, and operational support services to the division.
They serve as a highly valued member of the division management team; maintain an effective, efficient, and positive working environment in the Helena and field offices with BIT staff; develop and implement improvements to customer service; and coordinate special projects.
The position supervises other staff.
